SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY
For TOTAL, sustainability performance is part of responsibilities to be fulfilled in order to ensure business achievements and is measured not only from its success in generating profit but also in its accomplishments in the provision of social welfare (people) and conservation of the environment (planet). The implementation of these sustainability principles is reinforced with the established sustainability governance framework, which regulates the functions and obligations of all Company’s organs to meet the rights of all stakeholders on the basis of the laws and regulations in force.
In line with its position as a business entity engaging in the field of construction, TOTAL constantly takes into account the Social and Environmental (S&E) issues and sets them as a priority to be managed properly. Intensive interaction with both aspects encourages TOTAL to always observe and align its business process in order to minimize the potential impact, so that business activities can be carried out in a sustainable manner.
Through the internalization of sustainability scope via the triple bottom line concept in all business activities conducted, TOTAL hopes that the output in the future will be able to meet the targeted values in each dimension of people, planet, and profit.
As the manifestation of its commitment to sustainability, since 2012 TOTAL regularly publishes a Sustainability Report every year. This report contains data and material information on the Company's performance in economic, environmental, and social aspects.
This report is prepared by referring to the reporting guidelines stipulated in the newest version of GRI Standards of 'core' version, issued by The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and serves as a form of fulfillment of reporting obligation enforced by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), as stipulated in the Regulation of Financial Services Authority No. 51/POJK.03/2017 regarding Implementation of Sustainable Finance for Financial Service
Institutions, Issuers, and Public Companies. Measurement of quantitative data and analysis in this report are conducted by referring to the related indicators contained in the GRI Standards, covering the economic, environmental, and social performance.
